"All Knowing" by Jackie Crosby
Artist Statement
“Takaya stared out at me from the documentary shown by the BBC and that presence, that intense way that he looked at me, is the very reason I painted him. Maybe I feel a little kindred with him choosing to live alone on the island. I feel honoured and humbled that my picture is being shown at the exhibition today. A copy of this painting hangs above my fireplace in the UK and Takaya is always in my thoughts."
Artist Bio
Jackie (aka Q) is a semi-centennial who discovered an aptitude for painting only three years ago. She has never had formal teaching; her work is inspired by a need to express herself in acrylics. She is still in wonderment that she can create these images from her heart and mind.
