"Takaya's Legacy" by Coline Haxaire

from CA$48.00

Artist Statement

“I discovered the tragic story about Takaya a few weeks ago while doing some research about the coastal wolf. When Cheryl asked me to participate to the Legacy Art Fundraising Festival in Takaya's honor, I didn’t hesitate a second. It is important to preserve these beautiful animals and I hope my art can serve as inspiration to promote their conservation and the preservation of their habitat, so maybe one day my son will be able to see them too.”

Artist Bio

I am a French artist (b. 1986) living in the US specialized in wildlife art. To compose my realistic drawings, I work with soft pastels and pastel pencils. I am also a Biologist, I studied in Paris and have a bachelor in Animal biology and Ecology and a PhD in Cell and Molecular biology. I moved to New York where I began my personal artistic journey 7 years ago. Nature has always been an inspiration for me and I hope my art can help to raise awareness about the beauty of our Nature but also its fragility.
