"Solitude" by Vanessa Iverson

from CA$48.00

Artist Statement

“I had given up painting while pursuing other passions until I came across a call by PacificWild for artists to create art in honour of Takaya. I had been watching the story of Takaya for a few years as a Wildlife lover and resident of the B.C. coast. I created my piece to honour the memory of Takaya and based it on a photograph I had seen of him strolling along the shore in the twilight. The distance between the viewer and the wolf creates a sense of his solitary way of life. The silhouette of Takaya makes it feel as if you are viewing his spirit or a ghost, something inseparable from his environment and untouchable by humankind.”

Artist Bio

Vanessa is an artist from North Vancouver, BC.
