“I like storytelling in my art. I first learned about Takaya from Cheryl Alexander's documentary and felt very like-spirited in my love of the wild and freedom. So, I made the 'Moon howl and Ocean wave' pendant depicting Takaya in his days on Discovery Island. Takaya is such a special wolf and I feel for him. I was very sad when I heard the news of him being shot... I had feared it earlier. I wondered what was Takaya's real story - why he left his pack for a high risk urbanized environment? The Wild Instinct pendant depicted Takaya's deep mournful howl that we are familiar with.”
